Demyx sat on the bed talking quietly over the phone.  The bodyguards outside the room kept knocking telling him to hurry up; the concert was in half an hour.  But he had to attend this talk.  It wasn’t anything mayor, nothing serious about his family, his house, his job… It was just… Zexion.

His best friend had called him as today had been a very special day for him; his sister Larxene had gotten married.  Demyx, although he was invited, hadn’t been able to go due to the show, therefore he awaited the call so his friend could explain everything.

Although, this was not the only reason after not wanting to end the call…

Zexion had always been Demyx’s best friend since the first day they met.  But it was only a month ago Demyx strangely felt he needed more from his best friend, he wanted to have him for himself, and didn’t stand the idea of other girls surrounding him; he wanted Zexion to consider him… special.  At first, he thought it was simply because his career was not permitting him enough time for his friends, but slowly the feeling was eating him up to the point in which he felt down and sadness overwhelmed him.  Then came the point in which he had to admit that he was…

<<In love… with Zexion>>, he thought with a sigh.

<<Dem, is everything alright? You know I heard that sigh…>> the voice across the mobile spoke.

“Oh, yeah, no probs, is just I’m gonna have to hang up, the concert’s starting…” he apologized with a somber tone.

<<Oh, I’m sorry I just had to tell you so much! And I was also happy to speak with you for a while, everyone is too occupied to spend some time with me>>, he said laughing.

His heart throbbed.  He knew Zexion had always been ignored by many people… He was considered strange, mainly because his shyness never permitted him to socialize with the people surrounding him.

He thought about the first day he met Zexion.

That day in the library, the first day they saw each other, Demyx was 16 and he had to search some information on an Edgar Allan Poe for one of his class projects.  He was going to sit down next to his group, but he distinguished a figure reading alone with a tremendous miserable face sitting on one of the tables.  Without thinking it twice, he sat right next him and smiling, looking him directly in the eyes, shouted,

“Hiyaa there!!”

The shy boy looked up his face blushing slightly and replied, “Hi”

“What’cha reading?” and grabbing the book from the boy’s hands, read out the title, “The crow? I think I heard it before…”

“Eh… it’s one of the books in your pile,” he answered as he chuckled.

“Really? Course! It’s from Edgar Allan Poe!” and he laughed too.

He suddenly realized what a pretty face the purple haired had when he smiled, and thought for a second he wanted to make him smile forever, and since that moment, decided to be his friend.

“By the way, I’m Demyx”, he said extending his right hand.

“I’m Zexion,” the other replied as he shook it.
